Mask of a princess, wearing diadem, her smiling face with large open pierced through eyes, large beak-shaped nose, slightly open pierced through mouth. Wood, with remnants of several superimposed layers of polychrome pigments in some areas, dark patina overall. Himalayan Region, Monpa Sherdukpen Peoples, early 20th century, probably earlier. Small amulet in the shape of an ancestor ("hampatong"), standing on a rounding base, wearing a cap, his left hand holding his chest, his right hand holding his genitals. Wood, fine dark-brown glossy patina. Indonesia, Borneo Island, Dayak Peoples. Height: 4 5/8" (11,8 cm). Erosion all over, otherwise very good condition. The piece is mounted on a custom plexi stand.
