Beautiful dark glossy patina. Indonesia, Sumba Island. Height: 9 1/2" (24 cm). Erosion all over, some small dents, old traces of infestation, otherwise very good condition. A superb and rather unusual piece.

Blowgun quiver, with a cylinder darts container made of bamboo, linked to its lid by a rope, and a kind of long hook (to attach the quiver to the hunter's sash) made of wood, with a fine decoration of a wild boar on its top. The hook is attached to the container with three finely woven wicker rings. This quiver is coming from Palawan Island, South West of the Philipino Archipelago, and belonged to a member of a tribe that is now protected by the Philipino Government.
