A continental neo-classical window bench, 40" wide, 16" deep, 24" high (to the top rail; 16" to the seat top), the close-nailed padded seat covered in yellow- and beige-banded silk, the seat rail with a cane twist motif, the seat flanked by leaf-tip carved fluted uprights and stretchers, on tapering leaf-tip carved fluted legs headed by carved flowerhead paterae; late eighteenth century.
