Early Twentieth-Century German Porcelain Vase
A GERMAN PORCELAIN VASE, probably manufactured circa 1910-1915, of Jugendstil derivation, cylindrical, 5 3/4" high, 1 3/4" in diameter at the mouth, 2 1/4" in diameter at the base, raised relief decoration (cartouche-like ornaments) below the lip, the decorations at the base in higher relief, the dark green body decorated in silver and gold, the relief decorations in silver and gold. Manufacturer's printed mark on the underside, only partially legible ("Germany" above a triangular form surmounted by what appears to be a crown, "...lstadt" (four letters illegible) below the point of the triangle), impressed numbers ("9049 / 8") adjacent to this. Slight rubbing to the surface decoration paint in a few places; otherwise in fine condition.
