| THREE-LIGHT CHANDELIER, 40" high (total length), the 7"-high units each rising to a peaked dome pierced with approximately 35 pencil-diameter holes and glazed to an abstract design in shades of blue, the 9 1/2" diameter ceiling plate with three holes uniformly spaced near the outside circumference for wires and a fourth hole for wires in the center, the ceiling plate decorated as the units. Four small chips to the lip of one of the units, three of them to the unglazed interior surface and not visible from the outside, the fourth (approx. 5mm. x 2mm.) visible but not readily detectable; one small (2mm. x 1mm.) blemish to the lip of a second unit and one small (5mm. x 1mm.) blemish to the lip of the third unit may be described as chips. The electric cord wrapping was replaced some time ago. Purchased by the previous owner in the 1950s; they recall that the work (which is unmarked) is of Danish origin. An uncommon Scandinavian object. | |||||||
