| An outstanding gilded composition over wood base cove frame, 9 5/8" x 7 1/2" (sight; without the liner, 11" x 9"), 4 3/4" frame width (excluding liner) (outer dimensions of frame, 20 1/2" x 18 1/2"), the stepped sight incorporating a grill-like ornament, fluted hollow, the wide columnar outer rail with sprays of leaves trailing along it, cartouche corners. Aside from numerous (approximately 70) hairline splits to the composition, in fine condition. Probably, late nineteenth century or early twentieth century. | |||||||
