A 19th century folk art gabled spice chest, 12" in height and 8" X 5". There are six individual paper lined drawers with interesting miniature Lion's heads ring pulls below two cubby holes. Original black paint. Although apparently made to stand on a counter, etc., the holes in the back indicate it was hung on the wall at some time.
A semi-circular carved oak fragment OF 17TH or 18th century vintage, 14" X 29". This depicts the Old Testament story wherein Joshua and Caleb "...cut down a cluster of grapes which was so large that 2 men carried it between them hanging from a staff..." Uncertain of age, but the bas relief carving shows the men dressed in 17th century garb. There is a panel mounted on the back, reinforcing a repair to the once broken solid oak crest.
