An oil on board attributed to Philadelphia born artist Elisha Kent Kane Wetherill (1874-1929) of sailboats by the shore. Wetherill led the impressionist movement in the United States, studying under Thomas Anschutz (1851-1912)and, in Paris, under James McNeill Whistler (1834-1903) and Jean Paul Laurens (1838-1921).
