| A fine bronze gilt mantel of cabinet clock showing a lion carrying the clock within an exotic forested environment with a frog, a snail and a lizard. This rare clock is what one would expect from post Renaissance France, yet the clock is apparently English, with a balance wheel mechanism and fusee and a yet to be determined repeat mechanism of some kind. 15" High by 11" X 7". The case has been re gilt, and a number of the case screws are obviously not of an 18th century origin. RL* | |||||||||||
