African Christian Art circa 1960’s, this oil on canvas was brought back from North Africa by a Peace Corp worker in the mid to late 60’s. It is oil on canvas 50” X 31”. Slight damage see photos of animals on bottom, angels’ eyes, and on Devil.

The back writing reads TEIKOKU ZAIGO GUNJINKAI (imperial rural soldier association), SHUTAKUMURA (the name of a village), BUNKAI (a branch). Measures just over 3.5 inches in diameter. The sailor's name is on the back, his name is Taniguchi-san. A maker's name is on the very bottom. The bottle measures approximately 6.5 inches in tall.
