JAPANESE OCCUPATION MONEY
Japanese Occupation Money Issued by the Japanese Government to replace legitimate currency in captured countries or territories. Occupation Money was issued in all the regular denominations of the currency it replaced. The One Shilling note is typical of occupation money used in captured parts of Papuan New guinea, and would have been used in Australia, had the Japanese captured that country
