C1700 Documented Angular Knop Baluster Wine Glass
A beautifully constructed English Georgian baluster wine glass dating to C1700. A round funnel bowl with ‘teared’ and extruded solid base; above a stem with a ‘teared’ angular knop and basal knop. A domed and folded foot with rough pontil. English lead glass and in perfect condition, a small speck of un-melted silica to the bowl. Height: 5 ½” Rim: 2 5/8” Foot: 2 ¾” This glass is illustrated on page 19 of Turnbull & Herron’s ‘The Price Guide To English 18th Century Drinking Glasses’.
