| Wonderful Steuben c. 1920 compote that is breathtaking it it's beauty. High luster aurene in gold and violet hues and the gentle ripples of the base and bowl combine for a look that surpasses even Tiffany in it's execution. Brilliant yellow gold color and very nice stretch patterns on the rim. The piece measures 3 1/2" high and 5 1/2" wide and is shown in the Steuben/Carder book by Gardner as shape 757. The piece is marked under the base with Steubens marking of the piece "aurene 757". | |
