| Executed in ink, light colors and gofun on silk, this painting depicts a man guiding a bamboo raft through rapids, probably at or near Arashiyama in Kyoto. It is signed Shuzan, most likely Matsuo Shuzan, a later 19th century Kyoto artist. The style is nearer Nihonga than Shijo. Measurements are 33.3cm high X 38.3cm wide for the image, and 55.5cm high X 61cm wide overall. Condition is good, except for a faint line visible along the borders. | ||
