| Wonderful Rookwood cider mug in the unusual Tiger Eye glaze. Approximately 4 1/2" high. c.1891. This great piece of early Rookwood has a whimsical town crier ringing his bell with one hand with his lantern in his other. Rookwood used the Tiger Eye glaze between the years of 1884-1900. Marks include the Rookwood logo, five flames which date this piece 1891, the number 587, the letter W and the monogram for Sallie Toohey. Very good condition. Some minor scratching and 1/4" x 1/4" factory imperfection by handle as shown in photo. | |||||||
