| Wonderful Russian Palekh handpainted lacquer box. Approximately 3" x 2 1/4" and 1 1/4" tall. It is signed and numbered on the front on the bottom left, center and right. See photo. Also on the back in gold "Made in U.S.S.R." and a beautiful gold design handpainted around the outside lower edge and around the top edge it has handpainted beading. Very fanciful and beautiful. This scene is painted on the top of the open lid. It is very colorful and beautiful showing a man on one knee reaching up with a bird overhead. This box came with a collection of Russian miniature boxes that I am currently selling on ebay. Some had receipts and certificates of authenticity. This one did not. There is a sticker on the inside of the lid that reads Palekh - 1987 by Semahov and a price of $375 marked down to $330.00 and another word that I can't make out. I am not an expert in this field so I am starting with a low opening bid. You be the judge. These would make beautiful Christmas gifts. Very good condition. | ||||||||||
