| For sale is a beautiful watercolor painting of a boat at the dock with fishermen working. Titled on the mat "Rising Mist - New Bedford, Mass". Approximately 16 1/2" x 14" WITH the frame and matting. WITHOUT the frame it measures 8" x 6 3/4". Signed lower right "John Hare". John Hare, American 1908-78, was a watercolorist who painted boats, seascapes and harbor scenes. Associated with Massachusetts where he spent his summers on Cape Cod and Gloucester. He studied at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn & Art Students League in Manhattan. He was a member of St. Augustine Art Association. His works ar in Lowe Art Museum, Lightener Museum in Florida, Smith College Museum of Art. He died in Palm Beach, FL. Very good condition. | |||||||||||
