A late 19th. century Japanese Hirado Jar and Cover painted with a continuous scene of gentlemen in a garden consulting a sage. It is in very good condition and is 8 ins.( 20.3 cms.) high overall.

An unusual late 19th. century miniature Japanese Cloisonne 4 fold Screen. Each panel has different depictions of birds amongst flowers and streams on a black background. The reverse has a stylised scrollwork of foliage. The four panels are contained in a gilt metal frame. It is in perfect condition and each panel measures 15 by 6.7 cms. including the frame.

A very amusing 19th. century Japanese smoking set. The tobacco pouch is formed from a baby turtle shell and the pipe holder is fashioned from a piece of stag horn. The pipe's mouthpiece and bowl are silver with gold enhancements. There is a label from the Stringer collection with a number. The turtle shell measures 3 1/2 by 5 ins. and the pipe and holder are 8 ins. long.

A very fine 19th. century Japanese Laquer Inro with the original Ojime Bead and Netsuke. It is decorated with horses in gold and silver laquer and has a signature to the bottom compartment. The bead is carved jade and the netsuke is of stained stag horn with a tiny stag horn frog sitting on it. There is also a signature. It is contained in the original silk case. The Inro measures 3 by 2 ins. and the netsuke is 1 3/8 ins. long.

A fine Japanese wooden Netsuke of a toad sitting astride a brick . He has tortoiseshell inlaid eyes and a signature to the base. He is contained in a contemporary wooden box with sliding lid and there is an old label to the underside which says "Kagetoshi." The netsuke is 1 1/2 by 1 ins.(3.8 by 2.5 cms.) and it is 1 1/4 ins.(3.2 cms. high.

An interesting late 19th. century, possibly Seto Ware, Japanese Porcelain Hand Warmer. It is painted with sprays of bamboo and foliage and has the copper handles. There are piercings to the base which were probably meant for the attachment of feet. It is in perfect condition and measures 7 1/2 ins.(19 cms.) by 5 3/4 ins.(14.5 cms.) and is 4 ins.(10 cms.) high.

A good late 19th. century Japanese Satsuma Tea Pot decorated with two panels, one of a family scene in a garden and the other of storks in a watery landscape. The background is deep blue with a profusion of finely gilded foliage. It is 3 1/2 ins.(9 cms.) high and in perfect condition. There is a signature to the base.
