Original owners engraved initials on bottom, J flower T, I pellet R marked twice on bottom in a rectangle for Joseph Richardson. See Beldon, mark d. Scratch weight on bottom is 14-3-12. Great patina and weight, 15 ounces. Provenance note from collector of approval form Winterhur in 4-18-1989.
Very Rare Colonial Footed Salt by Myer Myer of New York City. Circa 1760-70. Original engraved with feathered script monogram P. Marked twice on bottom in script in conforming rectangle. Some wear to marks. Condition is excellent: Feet have been pushed in slightly, but not a problem. A couple of very minor dents in body. No rips or tears or restorations. 2 inches high x 2 3/4 inches wide.
