French Black Slate Mantel Clock, c. 1880. Gold engraved Eastlake decoration on front. Gilt bronze framed doors and openings front and back with beveled glass doors. White and black enameled dial with Roman numerals. Back plate on back has serial number 54559. Marked on front Shreve, Crump & Low over Boston. A very fine clock that keeps excellent time. With original key. 8 1/8 inches high x 8 inches wide x 4 1/2 inches deep.

Excellent deep sounding chimes on the half hour (once) and on the hour. This has been kept beautifully and cared for properly.
