Japanese Black Satsuma Plate, c. 1890. Very fine gold work with black ground to symbolize night. Gold house, pagoda, trees and a water wheel lakeside scene with Mount Fuji in the background. The moon is eclipsed and birds are flying. A very rare piece. Signed by Hadota. 10 inches.
