Hollow cut american silhouette of Rufus Sikes, done in 1829 when he was 30 years of age. This portrait was cut by an unknown person know as "the letterpress artist of Connecticut" who used the letterpress technique to identify his sitters.

Wonderful pair of folk art portrait miniatures on ivory, American School, Circa 1830, depicting a young couple with clouds for a background. The image size is 2 1/4" x 2 1/2". Framed, the miniatures measure 3 3/4" x 4 1/2". They are both in excellent original condition, with no restoration and lie flat in their original paper mache frames with grape finial top.
Pair of cut silhouettes done by famous silhouette artist, Master Hubbard. Circa 1830-40, they depict Jane Beckley and her mother Mrs. Beckley. Only one is stamped with the Hubard Gallery mark. Gilded glass mat and maple frames. Excellent condition
Lovely oval map sampler of England and Wales backed in linen, and conservation mounted to an oval board. It is unframed. This sampler is circa 1825 and done by Ann Bryant, who embroidered her name in the bottom left of the sampler. Map samplers were done as a form of advanced needlework to teach stitching and geography as well. This is a lovely example with silk embroidered flowers around the outside edge. A profile portrait of a handsome youth, DOUGLAS WORKINGHAM dated 1846. He appears to be wearing an Eton suit with a large collar turned down over a black cravat tied in a bow. His white waistcoat has a shawl collar. Watercolor on card with an attractive orange and blue backdrop. Housed in the original paper mache frame with brass surround and emblem hanger.
Fabulous large papier mache snuff box, hand painted, depicting a weary looking fellow in his night clothes drinking a cup of coffee. The inscription on the bottom right is in script and reads "the black draught" referring to coffee of course. The writing is clearly visible, in person, but was impossible to photo as it is written in red on a dark background. Circa 1810, this piece is in excellent condition and measures 4" diameter. Lovely early Montereau french transferware plate depicting the Porte St. Martin, otherwise known as the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, built by Napoleon to commemorate his great victories.
This plate measures 9 ¾” which is larger than the Creil and Montereau plates you normally see. It is in perfect condition, with a flat rimless bottom and the impressed Montereau mark, circa 1835.
