Lovely oval map sampler of England and Wales backed in linen, and conservation mounted to an oval board. It is unframed. This sampler is circa 1825 and done by Ann Bryant, who embroidered her name in the bottom left of the sampler. Map samplers were done as a form of advanced needlework to teach stitching and geography as well. This is a lovely example with silk embroidered flowers around the outside edge.
