Wonderful pair of folk art portrait miniatures on ivory, American School, Circa 1830, depicting a young couple with clouds for a background. The image size is 2 1/4" x 2 1/2". Framed, the miniatures measure 3 3/4" x 4 1/2". They are both in excellent original condition, with no restoration and lie flat in their original paper mache frames with grape finial top.
A profile portrait of a handsome youth, DOUGLAS WORKINGHAM dated 1846. He appears to be wearing an Eton suit with a large collar turned down over a black cravat tied in a bow. His white waistcoat has a shawl collar. Watercolor on card with an attractive orange and blue backdrop. Housed in the original paper mache frame with brass surround and emblem hanger.
