Japan before 1913 Height 4.3cm
Three okimono by Ishikawa Komei. A persimmon, a melon and a tangerine. Each exquisitely carved so finely that the pores of the fruits skin are clearly delineated. The tangerine is signed Juzan(art name of Ishikawa Komei). He was an Imperial Court artist. He was a member of the Art Committee of The Imperial Household, a professor of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He was also a juror for early Bunten exhibits.

height 15.5 cm and 9.5 cm.
Two bronze rabbits cast by lost wax. One sitting and the other resting on all fours, Very expressive eyes and some detailed chasing to indicate fur. They are free standing on a wood mount carved with flowers and rocks. Each rabbit is signed by an inscription of the first character of the artist's name WA His full name is Wada Ichi Shin.b.1893 d.1945

Height 18.6 cm depth 6cm. Very minor old restoration to age crack on bottom of base. The trainer wears plain clothes, but his monkeys each wear coats which have incised designs. One monkey is sitting freely behind the trainer while the other monkey is tethered with a collar and carries an elaborately carved and beribboned box.
