| Chinese Qing dynasty mid-19th century length 40 cm. width 25 cm. The Chinese lacquered tray has 16 compartments. The top row has two flat thread winders in a tray,Two oval lacquer needle boxes, a pin cushion and a tatting shuttle in a tray. In the center section are a fitted multiple winder, one clamp with pin cushion,a multiple winding clamp(sewing bird)and three flat thread winders. These are flanked by two lacquered recessed lidded boxes painted with gold landscapes and have ring handles. There are three gold lacquer half-round trays which hold bead spoons and a tatting bobbin. The bottom row has six cotton thread barrels in pierced ivory surrounds, a tape measure holder, a fitted netting roller with an ivory ratchet. The bottom of the tray has areas of crazing to the lacquer. One half-round tray has slight lacquer loss. | |||||
