This handsome, heavy gauge, Navajo ring is set with an agate of black and red matrix on a caramel background. The stone has two small rim flakes (see pic), which do not detract. The stone measures 7/8"x3/4". Size 8 1/2-9.

Offered is a set by a prize winning Navajo designer who excels in silver and gold overlay,shadowbox jewelry. Mr. Nelson has been active since 1975. For furthur information, see American Indian Jewelry by Gregory Schaaf and Angie Yan Schaaf, p.244. The necklace pendant on a 21" chain is crafted of 14K overlay on sterling and measures 2 l/2"x2"; The yei figures that adorn the chain are 2"x1/2" and the accenting turquoise in serrated bezels is spiderweb. The bracelet has a 5" inner circumference with a 1" gap; the center figure is 1 1/2"x3/4"; ring: 1 1/4"x 5/8", size 8; earrings, screwback: 1 1/4"x3/4" - excellent condition.

Victor Gabriel is a Washoe Indian from the Lake Tahoe and Great Basin areas of California, working since 1975. He is an advanced silversmith whose esthetic of Native American is evidenced in his forms and lapidary work. This ring shows his skill as a goldsmith as well. A large opal is set in a gold bezel, framed by sugilite, coral and turquoise. The opal is 1"x1/2", size 7 1/4; excellent condition.

This is a superb example of Northwest coast silversmithing. Although it is signed J. Lyn, 89, I have no information on the artist. Note the applied gold eye of the bird. Measures 6 1/2" plus a 3/4" gap, 1" wide.

Jim Harrison, student of Preston Monongye and Jessie Monongye, has been active since l981 and has become well known and highly collectible for the beauty of his designs of combined materials of precision mosaic inlay. The set offered here consists of a pendant, 2 1/4"Lx1 1/4"W on a 30" chain; bracelet: 5 1/4" inner, plus 1 1/8" gap,1/2"W; earrings: 1"x1 1/8". Excellent condition.
