This well-executed mixed metals box, ca. 1950's reflects a very demanding technique of marrying metals, employed extensively by the Los Castillo brothers. It depicts what appearss to be an Aztec sacrificial scene, drawn perhaps from a codex or stone carving. Constructed of a thick gauge silver,with a slightly domed top, accented with copper borders and feet, mahogany lined. 7 1/2"L x 5 1/4"W x 1 1/2"deep.
