This highly collectible Zuni artist, active since 1945, and winner of numerous awards for her cluster, petit point jewellry, selects the finest turquoise, shaped to perfection. cf:Amercan Indian Jewelry I, by Gregory Schaaf, p.264. Inner measurement: 5" + 1" gap. Centers cluster: 2 1/4" x 1 1/4" center stone has hairline.
This large buckle, in the unmistakable style of Hubert Harmon, bears an incomplete hallmark: Mexico, sterling, and number fragment 10-5. The pin back was a later addition; set with cabochon amethysts, it measures 4"W x 3".
