ntique French boulle work game box
Antique French turtle top boulle-work game box with mother of pearl counters or markers. Mid 19th century, lovely condition. Probably used to play Quadrille, a passtime enjoyed in French aristocratic salons. This rare, possibly unique clock is one of the last from my personal collection. Unlike the very common iron bodied clocks of the 1880’s this one is heavily enameled in bright orange and gold. Clearly part of the oriental craze in Victorian times yet very un-Victorian in style. There are as you can see some small chips in the enameled and the wooden back is missing. I don’t think the Ansonia movement is original and the bell hammer has been clipped so it does not clang...
An enamel and gilt clasp, French, cloisonné decoration in the Neo-Empire style of the 1880’s. Width "2/ 5,5 cm. Condition: a few hardly visible chips to the enamel.

A lovely lady in a burgundy gown graces the front of this antique French enamel and foil vase. It is completely hand painted and signed by the artist, which appears to be "Vibert". The background is a soft pastoral scene with the appearance of an early sunset. The gracious lady who has a demure smile and is holding a staff is executed in enamel. Her silver hair is swept in an up-do and her burgundy dress is highlighted with gold dots...
This miniature vase has a beautiful hand painted image of a gentleman holding a rose with a little ribbon tied around it. His hand is outstretched as he is most likely ready to present it to a lady. The painting is beautiful and signed by the artist in the lower left corner. The background is variable shades of green and pink foil and the enamel work is brilliant. The interior is white enamel and the top rim is silver...
