Offered here is a wonderful small picture frame, probably late Victorian. The frame has a double gilt metal edge, one in a rope form, the other in a vine form that terminates in a knot in each corner. Gilt metal grape leaves are applied in each corner and overlap onto the burnished gold colored velvet. The back has the metal tabs to hold in the picture and the backing, and all the tabs are there. It's so rare to find such a perfect little gem as this truly tiny period frame, in original condition. It stands not quite 3" tall, the site dimensions being only 1" by 1.25". The frame is patinated copper and gilt metal, has it's original glass, and the easel back is all original as well. The condition is excellent.
This lovely antique brass frame is French, circa 1900. It is designed in the form of a book which opens to reveal four sections for photos. It has pierced, engraved decorations and is as beautiful opened as it is closed. It measures 6 3/4 inches long x 10 1/2 inches across. It measures 5 1/4 inches wide when closed. The frame has the makers mark of Mon Alph Giroux, Paperie de Lux. The finish is beautiful and condition is excellent.
