This charming brooch is very pretty and wearable. Plique a jour jewels are very hard to come by these days – they are somewhat fragile, rare, and I believe that many of them are now in private collections. This lovely maple leaf pin seems to be missing one leaf. The space has been filled with a drop made of green agate, so the loss is hardly noticeable. Along the main vein of each leaf and the stem are paste accent stones, and it is centered by a faux pearl...

Superb quality earrings designed with the flourish of garlands, have been made of foiled pastes in the manner and fine execution of Georgian and Victorian earrings. From the tiny pastes to the large teardrops, all stones were cut and polished then set like gemstones. No time was spared in the design of the silver which is rounded, pillow like and smooth. The brilliant pastes are the rare pink color that flatters all women. Paste this fine was an art form in earlier eras...

Here is a cheerful bow pin or brooch, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour with twisted wire work running through it. The colors in the photographs may be deceptive, depending on your computer monitor. The enamel over the wire spirals is turquoise, and the rest is a medium blue. Measuring 1-1/4” x 7/8", it weighs .11 oz or 3.1g. On the back it is marked with “800”, and an illegible (maker’s?) mark; it’s possibly Italian. The silver on the front has a gold wash...

This coin bracelet made it out of Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution, along with the silver bell pin which I also have listed on Trocadero. It consists of 24 coins, dating from 1893 – 1910, but most of them are from 1905. The wearable length is 7-1/8”, and it weighs .93 oz, or 26.3 g. I’ve cleaned off some tarnish, but it could be cleaned more should the new owner desire it...
