This is a beautifully and intricately hand carved oval plaque depicting Christ, made ca. 1910/20. This was bought from a South Carolina plantation. This piece was made by putting together several scraps of wood that were then hand carved by a plantation worker, who might have been an amateur but it is truly a masterfully done piece of folk art. It comes ready to hang.
