Here is a rare matching pair of vintage Embryo chairs by Marc Newson (1963- ) and produced in Japan by Idee in 1988. They feature polished and lacquered tube steel legs with brushed aluminum flanges, and their original black neoprene upholstery. Condition of each is excellent. There are no rips or scuffs, and only some light fingerprints which can be removed. Each measures 31" high, 23.5" wide and 35" deep, with seat height of 16.5". Each round opening is 1 1/4" diameter.

I believe that this piece is Scandinavian though the sticker is missing from the bottom. The round "shadow" of the sticker is just visible.

When I purchased this piece, it was being used for pens and pencils...
