WWI USN dog tag. It is on what appears to be the original chain which is, unfortunately broken. Obverse includes name, Frank Brody as well as what I assume are his birthdate and maybe date of entry to the Navy: 9-1-97 and 6-18-18. USNRF was the US Naval Reserve Force. The reverse shows Frank's thumbprint. Nice piece of WWI history.

I believe this to be a horseshoe cleaner. During WWI armies were extremely reliant on horsepower for mobility. This was a fact even in WWII far more then most realize. This is a simple blunt iron blade on a wood hilt. The "blade" is slightly curved but with an exaggerated hook on the end. The blade is dated 1916. There is also a maker logo on the ricasso. It is very light only only a few letters are visible on the right side around the image of a horse. Interesting item.

Rare authentic antique, half of the 17th-century, Russian enameled bronze, priming flask for a flintlock or wheel lock gun. The shape and the form of decoration are very distinctive for the 17th century work of the Kremlin armory.
Those types of bronze priming flasks were cast in two pieces then joined together on the edges. This particular piece was excavated in the 19th century, on the former territory of eastern Poland, in broken condition...

Rare early carved wood cannon used in casting cannons-piece is composed of two pieces and pegged together to be split during casting process to make molds-has some labeling on it and later inventory number--metallic label has a scrolled B on it-no condition problems--21 inches long--well turned piece-ca 1900-probably from an old foundry-most likely American

An original M1871 helmet worn by a Trooper of the 6th Dragoon Guards, (Carabiniers). Complete, missing only the original nut that holds the horse hair plume in place. Shows modest wear from use and age with small dents and surface abrasion. The leather backing on the chin strap is unstitched and the original liner is very dry with a crazed surface. (As shown) A handsome addition to any military collection.

Nice set of WWI tent stakes and pegs. Excellent condition for their age as per photos. The only real damage I find is a small hole in the bag at the side of one of the buckles (Image 7). The bag has some marking on the inside of the flap but very faded (Image 2). Looks like the original rope. I haven't pitched a tent since Boy Scouts so I have no idea what the difference between a peg and a stake is but there are three of one and two of the other. Nice original set of equipment.

Lovely brass bugle with embossed Prussian eagle. Below this eagle is maker name and date: C.W. MORITZ BERLIN 1914, making this now 100 years old. Bell is reinforced with a band of German silver trim with a decorative double groove on the upper piece. A brass ring is affixed to this silver band. Mouthpiece looks to be original to the bugle with a short chain that looks like it fixed to a ring near the stem that is now gone...

Gorgeous true ivory grips for Colt Official Police. Nice ivory grain throughout. The sticker shown was there from the estate it was brought from so I decided just to leave it. Screw grips nicely. Why not make your gun look really, really cool?

Great example of a walnut based P08 Luger magazine. Has the Erfurt Arsenal stamp but it a rare example of an unnumbered magazine. These are very desirable as they are sort of the O-type universal donor of Luger magazines. When one is missing a magazine for a numbered Luger this is the easy answer.

Nice pair of black widow Luger grips. Unfortunately someone along the way found the need to carve a "W" on one side. The other side has one small hit (See next to last photo). This is a shame because otherwise these grips are in great shape with no cracking or warping and nice, unworn checking. I hope "W" feels bad for what he did.

Absolutely cool, absolutely real silver panzer skull ring. Recently came out of a veteran's estate. Smallish size would fit well with a panzerman as they sought smaller guys for that job. The band is cut at the bottom which is typical of GI souvenir hunters in a hurry. The skull reference goes back to the Napoleonic era Hussars and was adopted by the tank arm as a continued tradition of elite mobile warfare units. This is a different animal to the SS skull so no unpleasant connections...

Terrific set of sand yellow DAK binoculars. Dialyt 10x50 Hensoldt Wetzlar are generally thought to be popular with tank commanders. The early serial number 21933 would put this set early in the war and very likely in the thick of the North Africa fighting with the Afrika Korps. Binoculars themselves are in great shape with near perfect paint. The leather strap is still there and actually quite strong but is significantly weathered to a solid state of "Ugly"...

Here is a truly fascinating piece with a great look to it. Four place round ball bullet mold. The mold portion is brass. The smallest ball mold diameter is about 7mm and the largest is about 13mm. The swiveling arms are iron and the handles are wood. The brass portion has written on the side FAI PAR COUPIL A BONNETABLE. The design is simple but when the handles are swiveled out and squeezed it is clear that plenty of pressure can be brought to bear...

Very interesting Imperial German dog tag. This is the second of 2 that I recently found and both look to be from the same area and in the same unit. Lovely script engraving that I have not seen before. All I have previously seen are block letter typed. Looks like Johannes Gerhhardt from a Bremen address. DOB is 15.5.72. Ersatz battalion Ldw J R 72 Gen H No 2837. Really a nice, unique piece...
