Shockingly perfect WWI German boot knife. Blade does have a few stray scratches from in-out action over the decades but is certainly the mintiest example I have seen. As per photos metal is as healthy as if it were made yesterday. Every angle is crisp and sharp. Ricasso is marked RASIERMESSER FABRIK ERN WALD RHEINL. This company made razors but clearly put their know how to good use after 1914. Blade also sports a nice crisp arsenal stamp. Much of the paint is worn from the crossguard...

Swedish estoc (although first acquired in Switzerland;for an almost identical piece, see DK Publishing, "Weapon: A Visual History of Arms and Armor, 2006, p. 105), a great example of an uncommon style of pure military sword equally suitable for both slashing and thrusting. The blade has a long ricasso that is forged into a diamond shape that tapers uniformly through its length...

A striking and uncommonly fine example of a double-edged cut and thrust blade (probably Toledo). Iron knucklebow hilt with curved, S-shaped quillons and mushroom-shaped pommel carved with acanthus leaf decoration, with a knucklebow pierced plate...

Lovely engraved Hirschfanger dagger or hunting sword. Ricasso reverse shows the early Clemen and Jung maker logo. The work throughout the piece shows early quality and patterns. The engraved blade shows tasteful hunting scenes including jaeger, hounds and foxes doing their eternal chasing, forest scenes and bucks with great racks, as well as the hunting association coat of arms. The spine is engraved with a vine pattern most of the way...

Mysterious bronze handled knife with iron blade from Cambodia. Very quirky “dragon” handled knife with original bronze sheath bindings, this could possibly be a type of early “meed mor” (Thai magic knife), but to be honest I cannot find any references to this design and style although the pommel has an uncanny resemblance to “Knife with Dragon-Headed Handle, Ordos Type, 14th cent” in the Harvard Art Museum- just google this...

Terrific quality GIL leader dagger. GIL was the Fascist youth movement and basically equivalent to the Hitler Youth. This dagger also includes the extremely hard to find leather hanger. These hangers were not particularly well made and the leather used is a bit flimsy so few have survived the decades. This set looks to have been together for the duration...

Terrific example by A C Co which is far scarcer then LF&C. This M1917 trench knife (Also known as The Knuckle Duster) has a nice, smooth, unsharpened triangular blade. The knuckle guard is clean as a whistle and backmarked A.C.Co. USA 1917. The grip shows a nice, healthy wood mostly free of damage except for 5 notches that look intentionally placed. The hard to find scabbard is in similar solid condition with all rivets in place...

A hirazukuri wakizashi blade in aikuchi mounts: the cutting edge length is 14 inches, greater than the 1 shaku length (traditional, 11.93 inches; historical, 13.93) that is the customary distinction between tanto blades and wakizashi blades. Overall, with tang, the blade measures 19 1/8 inches. The blade itself is a treasure. Signed “Soshu ju Tsunahiro,” it is the epitome of a fine early Soshu School blade. Fred Weissburg, in his study titled “Sandai Soshu Tsunahiro,” stated that arou...

Probably Genovese: the steel blade tapers forth from the forte with broad beveled cutting edges and a single broad fuller through the middle; the forte simply carved with a double-line pattern that terminates in an iron bolster; wood grip with carved ribs somewhat worn and with rich deep patina from use, and which terminates in a carved floral iron pommel.
