We have a very good looking, rustic, carved inkwell, in the Black Forest style, of a fox sitting on what appears to be either a rock or a log. The inkwell sits in a tree stump and a hollowed-out fallen log serves as a pen tray. Very clever! This dates to the mid to late 1800's and the carving is quite intricate. Condition is very good with just one missing ear tip on the fox and an inexplicable hole in the bottom of the glass inkwell...
A large impressive deskset consisting of two heavy crystal inkwells set into a walnut stand with a pen tray and jockey cap ornament made of brass and enamel. This piece, which dates to the early-mid 1900's, is quite heavy and measures 12" X 7.5". Both of the crystal inkwells have some chips from being dropped at some point. Originally $350.00

Hand painter over polychrome transfers and in very fine condition except for a small rim chip to the inkwell insert as seen in the photograph. The dark specks in the bottom of the inkwell insert is old ink. Easily removed.

Nice old wax seal stamp with a hollow silver handle marked 800. The handle has a nice Arts & Crafts flower decoration. This is probably German, but could be Italian. The silver wax seal is DA (I think). Measures about 2-1/8 inches tall. Excellent condition, with a couple of small dents in the silver handle.
This is an unusual vintage cut crystal inkwell, with hinged jockey cap lid of brass and brightly striped enamel; ca. 1930, from the Saratoga estate of the late Tommy Luther, prominent American jockey and founder of the original jockey guild; of square form, decorated with columns of notched prisms; Condition: some minor chips on prism edges, wear to enamel; measurement: 2 inches x 2 inches, and 3 inches high.

A lovely mother of pearl handle seal with a scroll and leaf design. The piece has a decorative gold colored base that holds an amethyst, or amethyst colored glass stone. Seal is carved with initials that are somewhat difficult to decipher. Perhaps MF, or MN. A very attractive small table seal.

An absolutely fabulous vintage Art Deco pewter-over-wood sheet pewter inkstand c1920s. This desk set consists of the 8-5/8 x 5-1/2" base, with a fitted glass inkwell, a hand-done optical checkerboard Deco motif (stippled and gloss segments) and a matching 8 x 7/8" letter opener, which rests on one of the two channels on the base (the other is for a pen). Also included is a 5-1/8 x 2-1/8" rocking ink blotter with screw-on knob and checkerboard motif...

Ikeda Masuo (1934-1997) was one of the best known Japanese print makers in the world. He also produced ceramics, bronzes, and was the author of many best selling and award winning books. This piece was made after his design, box is silkscreened with his signature, not handwritten. His pieces are increasingly more difficult to obtain. Dates to early 1990s.

A beautiful Victorian English 'ecritoire' writing case with tooled leather inlay in fine wood and monogrammed crest.
This piece is in good condition with just some wear to the folding part of the leather writing-surface lining. Otherwise the condition is quite remarkable for something that's well over a hundred years old, including the gold-coloured stamping around the perimeter of the leather.
