An absolutely fabulous vintage Art Deco pewter-over-wood sheet pewter inkstand c1920s. This desk set consists of the 8-5/8 x 5-1/2" base, with a fitted glass inkwell, a hand-done optical checkerboard Deco motif (stippled and gloss segments) and a matching 8 x 7/8" letter opener, which rests on one of the two channels on the base (the other is for a pen). Also included is a 5-1/8 x 2-1/8" rocking ink blotter with screw-on knob and checkerboard motif...
Nice old wax seal stamp with a hollow silver handle marked 800. The handle has a nice Arts & Crafts flower decoration. This is probably German, but could be Italian. The silver wax seal is DA (I think). Measures about 2-1/8 inches tall. Excellent condition, with a couple of small dents in the silver handle.

An Antique Continental Silver (.830 std.) Inkstand Made in Sweden Circa 1930 Maker's Mark probably G.A.B for Guldsmedsaktiebolaget possibly designed by Jacob Angman. The rounded triangular shaped Inkstand on three plain bun supports with plain platform fronting a deep and wide pen well, with a lobate fluted melon shaped covered inkwell, with plain circular dome shaped cover with ball finial, the platform with an outer "bamboo" style narrow border. This is an unusual vintage cut crystal inkwell, with hinged jockey cap lid of brass and brightly striped enamel; ca. 1930, from the Saratoga estate of the late Tommy Luther, prominent American jockey and founder of the original jockey guild; of square form, decorated with columns of notched prisms; Condition: some minor chips on prism edges, wear to enamel; measurement: 2 inches x 2 inches, and 3 inches high.
