This elegant decanter is mounted in a finely detailed gilt bronze base, with additional gilt bronze on the neck and stopper. The decanter measures 7" high, and is 3 5/8" in diameter on the bronze base. The shoulder of the decanter is etched with a ribbon and foliate design, and the glass itself is antique, having ripples and some minor bubbles. The glass base has a star design incised, and appears to have been ground at some time, probably to remove a sharp chip or edge...

Pair of iridescent glass vases with silver overlay, ca 1900. Each: Three straight and upward tapering sides. The glass is thick and rusticated, and brownish in color. The base is overlaid with palmettes. The top is overlaid with rondels. Pontil mark. Hallmarked “Real Silver”. Very good condition with subtle shimmering.

Opaline glass bowl in the Brocade pattern, from the John Walsh Walsh glassworks. The opalizing effect was obtained by adding cobalt oxide to the glass, and a complicated procedure of heating and cooling. The opaline patterns made by John Walsh Walsh were produced as early as the turn of the century 1900. Height "3 ¼ / 8 cm, diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

This beautiful piece is made from emerald-green glass and gold-toned metal. It is unmarked, but we were told it by a glass specialist that it is from England. It’s approximately 5” tall and 2-3/8” across the bottom. The gold-toned lid has cut-outs in the shape of stars – so charming! It is in excellent condition, and circa 1900. A lovely Bohemian zwischengoldglass liqueur beaker, the bottom featuring an inset gilt and enameled design of bouquet of violets. The panel cutting along the beaker’s sides causes the design to be visually repeated when looking into the interior. These glasses have become increasingly difficult to find.

Origin: Bohemia, ca. 1860. Condition: excellent, gilding intact, no chips or cracks. Dimensions: 2-7/16” tall.

A fine example of a triple knopped double series opaque twist (DSOT) antique wine glass. The bell bowl is over a stem with a pair of 3-ply spiral bands outside of a central gauze, and with a flattened shoulder knop, a medial knop, and a basal knop. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil.

The vast majority of opaque twist glasses have straight stems, and the addition of even one knop adds substantially to the difficulty of making them, and to the value...

A beautifully made antique drinking glass with a round funnel bowl. A merise separates the bowl from the stem which features a multi-spiral opaque twist and shoulder and medial knops. Lead metal, conical foot with rough, snapped pontil

The height of the glass is 6 5/8", with a bowl diameter of 2 1/4" and a foot diameter of 2 5/8". Fine condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, hazing, etc.

A beautiful example of an English drinking glass of the double series opaque twist (DSOT) type. The round funnel bowl sits atop a stem with a 14-ply spiral band around a central pair of heavy spiral threads. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil.

By far, most opaque twists are straight stems. In contrast, this one has a medial knop. However, what makes this glass highly unusual is that the knop, which is quite large, is a bladed knop...
