An elegant sterling silver tea strainer completely covered in translucent bas-taille enamel. The octagonal bowl of the strainer and the handle are outlined in a delicate trailing pattern of pink roses with green foliage, tied with a pink ribbon at the tip of the handle, all against a pale blue background. The quality of the enameled decoration is superb, as would be expected of any item retailed by Tiffany in this period. The back is marked “Sterling” and “Made for Tiffany & Co.”...

Chrysanthemum sterling silver oyster ladle. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1920. Round bowl with twisted fluting and curved and reeded stem with dense, entwined, and wraparound leaves embedded with flower heads; large flower head at terminal. A nice serving piece in this pattern which was introduced in 1880. Engraved interlaced script monogram. Fully marked including maker’s stamp. Very good condition.

A Georgian Sterling Silver Tea Set by Samuel Hennell (son of Robert). Hallmarked London, 1812/1815. It is of fluted design, stands on ball feet, and has gadroon detailing to the rims. The teapot is marked 1812 and the sugar and creamer 1815, all of identical design. The sugar bowl and cream jug have gilded interiors. Total weight 34.7 Troy ounces. Excellent condition.

An Edwardian sterling silver pin or dresser tray hallmarked Birmingham, England 1903. This 5-3/4 x 2-5/8" tray has a lined interior, a rounded lip edge and a fancy EWP monogram in the central oval monogram area. It weighs 32.6 grams, it has a set of British silver hallmarks and an obscured maker's mark. It is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a few small and shallow dents...

George II sterling silver mug. Made by Samuel Welles in London in 1759. Baluster bowl with leaf-capped double-scroll handle. Raised foot with tooled leaf border. Chased and engraved bucolic scene with hounds racing through an orchard. A later Victorian homage to the tranquility of rural life. A fine first-standard (950/1000 pure) silver tastevin, the bottom inset with a silver 5-franc coin from the reign of Louis Philippe. The coin has good detail, the front showing a bust of the king in profile, while the bottom shows a laurel wreath enclosing the words “5 Francs/1846”. Sterling silver berry spoon in Towle's 1884 "Arlington" pattern. This rare pattern featured a different repousse design on each piece of the service. The gilt spade-shaped bowl is engraved with climbing roses growing on a trellis. This decoration is especially interesting.

The pattern is named after Robert E. Lee's plantation, "Arlington". Union troops buried their dead in Mrs. Lee's rose garden as a spiteful act, and unwittingly created Arlington National Cemetary.
