A rare and elegant boxed set of six sterling silver citrus spoons in Paye & Baker's "Orange" pattern. The handles are decorated front and back with oranges, orange blossoms and foliage. Paye & Baker primarily made souvenir spoons, and this particular pattern was usually associated with Los Angeles, considered a very exotic location at the beginning of the 20th century. These spoons are the only set we've seen made as citrus spoons...

An elegant classic-style French silver tastevin of traditional form. The bowl is decorated with raised "perles", concave "cupules" and elongated "godrons" for assessing the depth of color in both red and white wines. The curved sides help concentrate the aroma, so only a very small amount of wine has to be poured to judge quality. The looped handle allows the tastevin to be worn suspended from a chain. Tastevins with round thumbpieces are generally from the Paris region...

A figural corkscrew in the form of an equestrian boot by the R Blackinton Co. of N Attleboro, MA. The boot is nicely detailed to appear like textured leather. The corkscrew/opener is silverplated steel for strength. The boot is fully hallmarked on the bottom.

Large sterling silver berry spoon in Blackinton's 1900 "Nautilus" pattern. The handle is elegantly decorated with scrolls and shells, and nicely complements the lobed bowl. The reverse is marked with Blackinton's hallmark.

This is one of three Edwardian sterling souvenir spoons, each with London hallmarks and makers’ mark for Wakley and Wheeler; two are date stamped 1913, the third, 1915; each richly cast with rope-twist and foliate handles with heraldic shield terminals engraved "B&H" and "I.R.C." Condition: very good, bowls have some surface scratches, hallmarks crisp and clear. Measurement: 4 _ in long.

Handsome pair of sterling silver ice tongs in the "John Winthrop" pattern by International Silver Co. This is one of the classic American Colonial patterns developed during the early 20th century when people were first beginning to be interested in American antiques. Curiously, the simple design was also a perfect match for the upcoming Art Deco styles of the 20s and 30s. Ice tongs were an uncommon serving piece and are very difficult to find today...

A very good first standard (950/1000 pure) silver small-size tastevin by the highly regarded Dijon silversmith Marc Parrod. This example retains the classic round shape with a convex bottom, but the usual "godrons" and "cupules" are replaced by repoussé grape clusters alternating with "cupules". Each grape cluster is accented with stylized vines. Parrod was particularly noted for this unique variation...

A lovely bread basket with an intricately designed filigree. Made of 800 silver and gilded in gold. The four legs of the basket contain the same fine filigree. Circa 1900.

Graceful sterling pitcher probably crafted in Mexico. The piece is 8 1/2" high and 9" handle to lip and weighs approximately 2 1/2 lbs.

Lovely sterling silver cream or sauce ladle in Towle's 1900 "Dubarry" pattern. The handle, decorated with a simple spray of roses at the tip, nicely complements the triangular gilt bowl. The reverse is marked with Towle's old mark and "925/1000".

A Pair of George III Style Drum Mustard Pots with Matching Spoons. With Reed Borders, a Hinged Flat Cover with a Scroll Handle and a Shell Thumbpiece. Marked SG for Sebastian Henry Garrard, of R & S Garrard & Co. (Crown Jewelers, 1843-2007). Marks for London, 1919 on each pot and spoon. Dimensions; 2.25" high x 2.5" in diameter. With a clear glass liner, not original. Excellent condition.

A Large Frank Whiting Sterling Silver Water Pitcher. Given to F. R. Estabrook of Harvard on September 9, 1912 (possibly his wedding date as there is a pennant for 1910 in the Harvard Crest); engraved with his name, the names of 16 other gentlemen, a Harvard Crest with Estabrook's name over it in a ribbon and what looks to be a fraternity or club logo (a triangle with an owl and Greek letters; Phi, Delta, Psi, the original name for the Owl Club, one of the eight final clubs at Harvard)...

This is a fine American sterling silver napkin ring with three rows of engine turned banding and a center cartouche, made at the turn-of-the-century, monogrammed HLW, unmarked; Wt. 9.8 grams. Condition is excellent having four raised points on one rim; May need cleaning. Measurement: 1 1/2 in. diam. x 1 in. high.

This is a beautiful American sterling silver bowl made by Whiting Manufacturing Co. It is oval shaped with a shallow center and is partially looped and bordered by flowers. The sides of this bowl are looped into a c-scroll rim. It is monogrammed, 10 1/2 inches long and weighs 7.92 oz. and in excellent condition.

A beautiful early 20th C. silver enamel turtle pendant with Chinese character (longevity)motif. It's a perfect gift for turtle lover. L:2-1/4"

Elegant sterling silver large berry spoon in Whiting's wonderful 1896 "Dresden" pattern. The handle is completely covered on both sides with a complex floral pattern against a lightly stippled background. The bowl has scalloped edges and an elegant repousse pattern. The original gilding on the bowl has faded to a faint lemony hue. The back is marked with Whiting's hallmark and "Pat. Apr. 28th 1896", indicating that this is an older piece.

A wonderful Art Nouveau sterling silver cracker scoop in Blackinton’s 1904 “Daisy” pattern. The handle, decorated with flowers and foliage, nicely accents the ruffled edge of the bowl. Cracker scoops were originally used to serve small crackers similar to today’s oyster crackers. Now, the piece could be used to serve a variety of foods...

Late Victorian sterling silver olive spoons/spears such as this are the perfect accompaniment for a sophisticated bar set-up. They can be used for olives, of course, but also for cocktail onions or cherries. They can also be used as a stir in a cocktail pitcher or shaker. The spoon retains its original semi-matte gilding. The stem is marked “925/1000 Sterling.”

An elegant sterling silver olive serving spoon in an unnamed floral pattern by Baker Manchester Silver Co. This maker was especially known for their elegant silver serving pieces instead of full flatware services. The Art Nouveau style is evidenced by the trio of fully-opened roses that decorated the tip and center of the curving handle. The design is repeated in the scalloped and pierced bowl, and is shown in reverse on the back side of the spoon. The bowl retains its original matte gilding...

Absolutely beautiful, very heavy, sterling tray.  It measures 22" long x 14 1/2" wide x 1" tall and weighs 2045 grams.  It is heavily decorated with flowers and leaves.  It is marked on the bottom "sterling" with what appears to be a beehive.  It is rare to find a sterling tray of this weight and beauty.

This is a collectible antique sterling silver luggage tag made by the Webster Company at the turn of the century consisting of a detailed valise shape, no monogram, maker's mark is worn by appears to be Webster mark on the front, stamped 925 in back, measures 1 7/8"L x 1 5/8 W including handle, Excellent condition.

The walls are simply decorated with vertical piercing and the front is engraved with the crest and motto of Scotland's Melville clan, an ancient family from whom author Herman Melville was descended.
