This is a rare Victorian sterling diner’s napkin hook with a patent date of 1879. A real conversation starter! Diner’s napkin hooks have been in existence since the 17th century, but were all the rage during the Victorian era. To keep from spilling food on their finery, gentlemen simply attached their napkin to the clip on one end and then put the small hook over the top of their collars. Condition: excellent. A Large Glass Vanity or Dresser Jar, with a Sterling Repousse Top with a Cherub Design. Dimensions; 5.5" high x 4" wide. Marked sterling, but no maker mark. Minor bruises around the lip of the top and a very small internal chip (?) at the base of the jar. Very good condition overall. Circa 1890.

Finely crafted silver candlestick, marked sterling silver, decorated with 4 cartouche each containing with classical Greek figures, in high relief, in different position, also floral decoration 0n top and middle and base area. A Large Victorian Silver Plate Fish Slice Set with Ivory Handles, by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, circa 1880. The Ivory Handles are slightly mellowed and have age splits in each handle. The Fish Knife is a large 13" and the Serving Fork is 10.5", both with etching and piercing. Th knife is signed HA EA FA, for Atkin Brothers. Overall in excellent condition.

Pair of Edwardian Classical sterling silver candlesticks. Made by Barbour Silver Co. (part of International) in Hartford, ca 1910. Each: Tapering socket with flat and detachable bobeche; raised foot. Faceted. Engraved floral and zigzag bands. Lobed vertical frames. Reeded foot rim. Fully marked including Barbour and International stamps and retailer’s stamp (JE Caldwell) as well as no. 1317/29. Very good condition.

Sterling silver cream or sauce ladle with an Art Nouveau design of lilies. This form was used to ladle cream or other sauces for the desert course. They could also be used for main course sauces that did not require a full-sized gravy ladle. The reverse is marked "Sterling Pat. 1902". Before 1916, many American silversmiths did not mark their name on flatware. Unknown maker.

A Large Sterling Silver with Antler Handles Presentation Loving Cup made by Shreve & Co. San Francisco, California. Engraved on three sides as shown, presented to Charles Barrett, dated Wednesday. November 14, 1900 and San Francisco. Measures about 6 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" at widest and weighs over one and a half pounds. Rare, early and fine.

A vintage Art Nouveau period sterling silver 4-3/4" jam spoon c1900. This spoon has a 1-1/4" x 7/8" acanthus leaf bowl, a twisted tendril design stem, and it is stamped STERLING with an obscured maker's mark, and it is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use...

Art Nouveau glass perfume with engraved silver overlay. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1900. Globular with short neck and everted rim in silver collar; ball stopper. Overlay in open stylized pattern with leafing tendrils and interlaced and whiplash scrolls; heraldic cartouche engraved with interlaced script monogram. Glass is red. Silver has Gorham maker’s stamp and no. D942. Very good condition.

Each: Gadrooned urn socket with detachable bobeche mounted to stepped top of tapering and fluted pillar on raised square base. With one 4-light inset comprising central socket on wax pan to which are mounted 3 scrolled and reeded arms each terminating in same. Central socket has domed cover with vasiform finial. Low relief pendant flowers and garlands with ribbon and paterae...

Vietnamese silver box, late 19th century. Rectangular with straight sides. Cover flat and hinged. Box sides have embossed blossoming branches, bamboo, and bird; engraved leaves and flowers at corners. Cover top has embossed slithering, scaly dragons with horns and talons in same frame; blossoming branches at corners. Ground stippled. Maker's mark for Guang Qing Yong. Very good condition with deep patina.
