A large repousse decorated sterling presentation trophy goblet - London, 1866, by Henry Holland and Company. Size: 9 7/8 inches ht. Weight: 15.5 Troy ozs. The inscription reads: Presented by the Trustees of the Pontypool Park Estate for Competition by No. 1 (or Pontypool) Company of the 2nd Monmouth Rifle Volunteer Corps. 1866. The winner's name is etched into a cartouche on the reverse side - Sgt. Robert W. Wallace, 2nd Monmouths. Excellent condition.

Pair of pretty Austrian Biedermeier Classical silver candlesticks, 1863. Each: Tapering socket with turned-down rim and overhanging base mounted to knopped baluster shaft on domed and curvilinear foot with stippled flowers at corners. Fluting and lobing. Perfect for reading Goethe by candlelight. Marks include dated Viennese assay stamp indicating 13 loths (that is 812.5 silver) and maker’s initials IC. Very good condition.

A Wonderful Ball, Black & Co. American Silver Footed Center Bowl or Compote. J R Wendt is the Probable Silversmith. It is oval in shape with dimensions of 14" in length x 9" deep x 4.5" high. Weight is a heavy 27.9 Troy ounces. It has the Ball, Black & Co. New York mark (Formed in 1851 by William Black and Henry Ball. Became Black, Starr and Frost in 1874) and in a shield it is marked "950/1000 fine". The mark dates from 1851-1874 and the bowl is circa 1860. Excellent condition.

Set of 4 European gilt 935 silver and glass figural Buddha place card holders, ca 1925. Each: Contemplative and cross-legged figure of the Zen-man himself in molded glass. For a Siddhartha serene dinner party. Colors are green, blue, orange, and clear. Chamfered rectangular base and u-form back support. In leather-bound case with fitted velvet and silk lining. Marked. Very good condition.

Pair of Japonesque sterling silver open salts. Made by John C. Moore for Tiffany & Co. in New York. Round with open rectangular bracket handles and straight foot. Engraved overlapping seals decorated with modish motifs, including fan, bug, vase, and bamboo. Foot decorated with acid-etched spirals and lunette-form flower heads, and pierced leaves. Union Square mark (1870-5) with pre-1875 pattern no. 3007 and order no. 901. Very good condition.

Edwardian Art Nouveau sterling silver picture frame. Made by William Aitken in Birmingham in 1905. Rectangular window in shaped scrolled surround mounted to stained wood with hinged support. Chased Japonesque ornament—cranes, cattails, and lily pads in rippling water—as well as whiplash tendrils. The perfect showcase for a free-spirited boho forebear. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Austrian Classical gilt-washed 800 silver box, ca 1875. Ovoid and bellied on plain inset foot. Cover hinged and domed with cast figural finial: A little girl sits cross-legged and barefoot and rests her hand on the back of a hungry animal while spooning sustenance into its mouth. Engraved ornament: Leafing rondels inset with heads alternating with same shaped frames (vacant) on engine-turned border. Shoulder has leaf-and-dart border and cover top leaf-and-patera border...

Edwardian Classical sterling silver trinket box. Made by Howard & Co. in New York in 1901. Oval with straight sides and flat hinged cover. Leafing scrollwork applied to sides and cover top, which also has centrally mounted cherub’s head. Reeded rims with applied leaf border. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, year, and no. 1465. American Art Nouveau glass vase with engraved silver overlay, ca 1900. Baluster with inset and flared rim and spread foot. Vertical overlay pattern comprising distended flower heads and leaves overlapping curvilinear tendrils. Heart-shaped cartouche engraved with interlaced script monogram. Glass is green. Silver has retailer's stamp (“Wm Wise & Son”). Very good condition.

Turn-of-the-century German Rococo 800 silver box. Rectilinear with tapering sides and chamfered corners with scroll supports. Cover hinged, raised, and inset. Chased ornament with chubby, bare bottomed cherubs with adroitly arranged drapery surrounded by garlands and and Classical architecture. Gilt-washed interior. Marks include Hanau maker’s stamp (Storck & Sinsheimer). Very good condition.

Pair of Victorian cut-glass and sterling silver decanters. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1891. Each: Moon body with large stylized flower head on both sides and diaper and stars on front and back. C-scroll handle mounted to shoulder and cylindrical faceted neck. Repousse sterling silver collar and hinged and cork-lined cover. Silver fully marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, and S830. Very good condition with deep patina.

Rare Gorham morning glory sterling silver pie server with a pierced and chased fine gold washed blade. In excellent condition, it measures 10 5/8"

Turn-of-the-century sterling silver baby set rich in period assumptions. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark. This set comprises cup, bowl, and plate.

Cup has acid-etched frieze depicting sailor-suited, flag-holding, all-American boy with exotic coevals in native dress relegated to background. Imagery enhanced with verse: “Little Indian, Sioux or Crow, little frosty Eskimo, little Turk or Japanese—Oh! Don’t you wish that you were me?”

Set of 4 Victorian sterling silver place card holders. Made by Saunders and Shepherd in Chester in 1899. Each: A rifle is propped against a shilling coin dated 1899, the year war broke out in South Africa between the British and Dutch colonial settlements. The rifle is the famous Lee-Metford, which was by then a tad old fashioned, but still considered reliable by British as well as Dutch troops, who made use of captured specimens. Open lunette base with vertical support...

Beautifully designed and crafted German Rococo style silver double-footed vase, vase is decorated with cupids surrounded by floral design and a young boy sitting at the middle playing harp, this item is supported by four legs, from late 19th century period. Measurements are as follows, height of 7 3/4 and width of 11 inches, total weight is 18.005 troy ounces. No condition issues noted. Provenance: From the Estate of Stephen Stackpole.
