Applied ornaments include windmill, pipe-smoking peasant, and running dogs. Shaded brown and cream glaze. A homely piece in the Dutch style. Fully marked on underside and collar. Very fine 19th Century European reticulated Silver Salt Cellar with original Cobalt Blue Glass Liner. In the shape of a fine basket and stands on 4 delicate legs. Condition: no breaks or bends to the silver and no chips or cracks to the liner. The base has a hallmark stamp. The tiny spoon illustrated does not belong to this silver cellar, i.e. acquired separately and is not sterling. Size of salt cellar: W. 8 cm. x D. 6 cm. x H. 4.25 cm.

Japonesque mixed metal sterling silver bowl. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1883. Curved sides with allover spot hammering and gilt-washed interior. Terrific pair of sterling silver sugar tongs dating to the reign of George III. The design (made by cutting reflective facets in the silver) is very nicely executed on this quality piece, and unlike many Georgian tongs, these are quite heavy.

The tongs are marked with the lion passant and the script hallmark "GS" for George Smith, entered in London in 1782...

A superb Victorian Art Nouveau baby rattle, the handle carved from a large piece of mother-of-pearl and adorned on either side with a gorgeous Art Nouveau lady's head worked in sterling silver and finished with three silver bells. Although unsigned, the particulars of the design are very similar to a known Unger design. Marked "Sterling".

Origin: America, ca. 1895. Condition: excellent except for the bells which show considerable wear from a toothing child. Size: 4-1/2" long.

A Birks sterling silver baby food implement from 1900-10. This spoon has a 1-3/4" x 5/8" blade. It is stamped BIRKS STERLING in raised script, it has an EHK monogram, and it weighs 17.4 grams. George V sterling silver vase. Made by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd in Sheffield in 1912. Tapering and girdled tube on stepped foot. Flared and castellated rim with applied molding and ornament. Lion’s head side mounts with hinged and turned rings. Fully marked, including design no. 13163. Very good condition.

Patented 1878 and marked with a T dating it from 1891-1902, this server by Tiffany & Co. is done in the "Olympian" pattern. The scene depicted on the handle is "Venus born of the sea." The bottom portion is gilded on both the front and back. The intricate work continues to the face on the back of the handle and it is monogrammed at the top (please see picture # 8). It measures approximately 11.25" long and 3" at its widest. It is in excellent condition, and the overall weight is 205.3 grams.

Hand-hammered sterling silver ring applied with cooper ornament: A man in pointy hat is seated on the ground, smoking while a small dog approaches from behind, interrupting the opium-induced serenity. Above is a darting butterfly. Engraved name “Edward Hegeler”. Hegeler (1835-1910) was a German-born American industrialist and publisher. A very nice Imperial Russian enameled silver spoon by Gustav Klingert. The bowl is beautifully decorated in five shades of opaque cloisonné enamels and in translucent red and amethyst. The design I modified floral pattern with a Persian-style reserve. The handle is finished in a fish-scale enameled pattern. Exposed areas of silver are stippled and gilt. The interior of the bowl is engraved “Moscow”, indicating that the spoon was sold as a souvenir to an American or English visitor...
