This is a stunning Victorian ladies’ sterling silver evening purse, by R. Blackinton & Co., ca. 1880, the exterior, monogrammed "FEJ" and decorated all over with beautiful scrolling flowers even has a compartment with a marked sterling pencil; the gold-washed interior with hinged mirror has 4 compartments including one with a currency clip and ivory writing tablet; makers mark and Sterling mark.
