A charming and early Derby diminutive basket form sweetmeat, with delightful floral painting by the Cotton Stem Painter. This form, which is uncommon in blue and white, is almost unheard of in polychrome, with virtually no examples having been offered at auction in the last 10 years. An example is shown as illustration 44 in Gillespy's book on Derby Porcelain.

In overall very good condition, with a very old repair to one of the handles...

This is a 19th century sterling silver sugar caster made by Shreve Crump & Low Co. highly regarded and well known silver smiths. The height of the caster is 5” and the diameter at the widest is 3”. The caster is fully hallmarked and also engraved on the bottom with three initials and a date 7.29.1894.

Offered is this beautiful, iridescent, pulled-feather bowl/vase on ornate metallic stand. Superb iridescence. Overall, it is 13 inches high and 11 1/2 inches wide; the bowl itself is 9 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches high. It is in excellent condition. Polished pontil (there is a slight 'pull' on the pontil - see picture). Unsigned - probably was made by either Loetz / Rindskopf in Bohemia.

Extremely rare dessert plate featuring transfer decoration commemorating Napoleon’s great victory in the Battle of Friedland. The center decoration is printed in color and the rim is hand colored over a black transfer of crowned “N”s encircled by laurel wreaths and military decorations, alternating with escutcheons with the Emperor’s signature hat and sword. The back of the plate is stamped with the maker’s mark for Boch Freres of La Louviere, Belgium...

A beautiful and unusual cordial drinking glass, with a round funnel bowl, the lower half of which is fluted. The stem is of the double series opaque twist type, and is comprised of a 17-ply spiral band outside of a lace twist. What makes this a truly special glass is the domed helmet foot, and the overall proportions.

The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration...

Topaz Steuben crystal compote in a classic form by Frederick Carder. Unsigned. Excellent condition with only the very slightest surface wear in the bowl. 6" diam.; 4-1/8" tall.

Banded mochaware bowl in blue and brown. Very nicely formed, with a crisply shaped foot rim. The rim has one 1" hairline, and there is some discoloration to the interior (note that the discoloration visible near the rim is actually very thick bluish glaze, and not staining), but otherwise the bowl is in very good condition. 6-3/8" diam; 3-1/8" high.

Victorian Georgian Queen sterling silver soup ladle. Made by John and Henry Lias in London in 1839. King-shaped handle has engraved armorial with sword-bearing lion rampant and motto “Courage”. Deep ovoid bowl. A substantial and traditional piece made shortly after young Victoria ascended the throne. Stylistic continuity in the new reign. Fully marked. Very good condition.

A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted rose under a hovering insect.

The maroon printed mark, "Ch.PILLIVUYT & Cie/PARIS/EXP 1867/MEDAILLE D'OR" is printed inside a dotted oval under the base...

A superb Rococo-style first standard (950/1000 pure silver) tastevin by the master silversmith Marc Parrod. This large example retains the round shape of a traditional tastevin but replaces the usual bowl decoration with ornate bunches of grapes tied with ribbon bows and a remarkable handle treatment illustrating a young couple stomping grapes while holding hands. Parrod created excellent classic Burgundian tastevins, but his fantasy pieces stand apart from all the other Dijon masters...

This bisque porcelain figural group was produced in Europe in the mid 19th century. It is not marked and we don't know if it is German or perhaps English. It is 6 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide at the base. The porcelain is dense and quite heavy for its size. The group is so quaint, with this little girl and her large dog carrying a basket of flowers in his mouth. The piece has a space in the back to hold flowers, so it serves as a vase as well as a figurine...

A fine quality ornate silverplated footed nut or candy dish c1890, made by Simpson Hall Miller & Co. This 2-1/8" tall and 4-3/4" diameter dish has deeply impressed floral and leaf designs and it has the pattern number 1709. These porcelain plates were produced in Denmark by Bing & Grondahl in 1915. They have a diameter of 9 1/2 inches. The plates are being sold individually. You may choose any plate that you like. They are made of fine, high quality porcelain that is quite substantial. They are hand painted with lovely flowers. There are two with roses on them, a daisy and dogwood. The cobalt blue ground color shades from lighter to deeper hues...

A very good jasper ground glass paperweight by St. Louis. The sole decoration is the pink and white jasper cushion which completely fills the dome. The glass is heavy and nicely clear. The polished concave bottom has relatively wide basal ring.

Origin: France, ca. 1850. Condition: excellent, a surface nick on one side about 1/2" above the base and a tiny fleabite about two-thirds up the side of the crown. Size: 2-3/4" diameter; 1-3/4" high.

An elegant sterling silver trumpet vase with an opaque glass liner by either Jenkins or Armiger for F. Bucher & Sons. This silver is ornately decorated wthroses, forget-me-nots, wild roses, chamomiles and daises against a stippled background. Bucher was a retailer who stamped wares with his own mark, even though they were actually made by Jenkins, Armiger, Schofield or other leading Baltimore silversmiths of the day...

A pair of candlesticks with a dark blue ground decorated with gilt insects and raised beaded rings. Though unmarked this is a color and decoration that was made by Masons from about 1815 to 1825. 8 inches tall and 5 inches diameter at the base. (20 cm tall and 13 cm diameter at base).

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Gilding wear around edges and some scratches around the base, probably from scraping off wax.

These are very elegant and no doubt the insects were painted ...

This attractive antique full length 18K watch chain has alternating carved ornamental solid gold by-pyramid link (what we call a "fancy" link) which connects to a pair of linked rings, which connects to simple solid gold by-pyramid link.
