Fine old Shan Burmese lacquer box, circa early 20th century with one tray and depicting monkeys playing in foliate background. This piece is a real classic beauty (IMHO). There are a couple of repairs at the edge of the rim noted in enlargements as well as craclature on the surface and nicks around the foot. H: 19.2cm/7.6in and D: 22cm/8in.

Offered is a collection of three lovely antique 19th Century Papier-Mâché snuff boxes in black, decorated with patterns of wire and abalone inlay. These probably date to the mid-to second half of the 19th Century. They are offered as a collection, but also available individually.
The largest of the three boxes measures about 9.5 cm by 6.7 cm, and weighs about 59 grams...

19th century tortoise shell box on 4 wooden bun feet.
Still has with original key and lock works. In very good antique condition, there are some cracks throughout the tortoise shell. One hinge, see last photo, is slightly damaged, but does not comprise the box in that the lid is not loose. Measures 7 5/8 inches wide, 5 1/4" wide, 2 3/4" high

Rare, circa 1860, English walnut tea caddy featuring nice clean lines with its only decoration being the word “TEA” inlaid in sterling silver. The lid is hinged and the interior features two separate rectangular compartments with removable wooden lids for storage. In very good antique condition with expected signs of use with some light scratches, a minor nick to the walnut finish, and a small piece of silver missing at the food of the “T”. The scene on the top shows two older men arguing or bargaining, in front of what appear to be farm buildings. Under this is "And test Me nhow auld boy" followed by the initials HC. The sides and bottom of the box are decorated with finely drawn rows of leaves...

Lignum vitae seal box with screw thread, complete with lacquer seal and – most unusual – the corresponding agate intaglio ringstone with a family crest. Georgian, c 1810-20, with the seal engraver’s label, H. Lowe of Lambs Conduit, London. Diameter "1¼ / 3.3 cm. Condition: a dent to the border of the lid (the screw thread still works).

Beautiful little antique French hinged box with blue enameling and gold gilt over bronze. Featuring a miniature portrait that is surrounded by ornate reticulation which in turn is accented with glass faux rubies and faux lapis lazuli. The blue enamel ground in the portrait matches the darker blue surround trim. Velvet lined, this makes a perfect little box to protect that special piece of jewelry. Measures 3 3/8" across, 2 3/4" deep, and 1 inch high.
