Antique English original beveled Barbola mirror that dates to the 1920's. The hand made gesso flowers are beautiful with burgundy roses, yellow roses, blue flowers, and lovely green leaves. The beveled glass is very thick and it has its own backstand. The mirror measures 8" high to the top of the leaf and 8" wide. The mirror itself has some loss of silvering particularly around the edges and some cracks in the gesso. A great mirror in great condition for its age!
This extraordinary, large ormolu metal mirror in the French Louis XV style features a shield shape, twelve candle arms with foliate decorations and is surmounted by a sphere-shaped finial. Glass measures 36.5" tall and 26.5" wide. Patina is old and appears original, with some oxidation visible in spots. There is a dent to the sphere at the top, and signs of restorations near the top and bottom. It dates from the late 19th to very early 20th century, possibly by E.F. Caldwell...
