This is an elegantly simple Parisian Pier Mirror boasting an exquisitely patinaed rectangular mahogany frame beautifully embellished with pierced cast bronze crest accenting the upper and bottom parts. The mirror is original and minor tiny dark spots can be see here and there due to the age but nothing obvious. Circa date 1900-1910. Dimensions 70½”high/ 21"wide/ 2"deep.

Pair French 18th century Louise XV pier mirror, gilt and painted on wood, 40" high, 15" wide, 1 1/2" deep, with carved low relief gold fluted decorated frame on top of the very nicely faded pale green and gray color patinated painted background. Mirror plate is one(1) piece with blackened spots(picture shows horizontal line near the bottom area which is reflection of the room background), and backing is original wooden boards with square steel nails...
Federal Gilded on Wood Pier Mirror or Looking Glass, 53" high-top crown, 27" wide-top maximum, 24" wide-side, with thin mercury darkened original mirrored finish plate mainly, except upper mirror plate maybe replaced long time ago, relief decoration of Eagle in the center between gold balls attached hanging from the top, and original wooden backing boards in the back. There are some missing gilt specially lower center area but condition is good overall.

It is consisting of an impressive pierced carved cartouche depicting the classical Louis XVI patterns such as foliage and tied ribbon with the classical quiver of arrows and torch highlighting the recessed frame surrounding the original mirror. The frame is accented with raie de cour friezes and tiny beads...

A fancy ornate brass oval frame having trefoil cartouches with leaves and edged with beading encircle the mirror held up by easel stand whose stretcher is detached from the frame. However the stand is still most functional. The frame is a very elegant reminder of a lost craft. Please note that we have painted out the glass mirror - not to hide anything other than the photographer.

Sophisticated elegance oozes from every pore of this gilt brass mirror framed with rococo and neoclassical motifs. The highlight is the extraordinary and highly detailed visage in high relief at the top center of the mirror. The glass is beveled with an arched top. A ring is attached at the top rear for wall mounting.
Condition is superb with the exception of a minor amount of silver loss on the left edge. We have photo edited the glass portion of the image to remove distracting reflections...
The round bronze mirror decorated with golden filigree on the edge in scrolling shell form, inset with semi-precious gems in six-petal flowers, the reverse depicts SHOU character in the center of flowers and leaves, the handle made from crystal with some additional filigree decorations.
