An American Rococo Revival mahogany and burl mahogany "Parlor Mirror",of the highest ranking, circa, 1845-1850, attributed to J. and J. W. Meeks (active 1836-1859), New York, New York, with a broken top pediment. Height: 65 1/2" inches from tip of finial to bottom. Gorgeous ebony and mahogany burl inlays. The mirror plate is original to the piece, with minor and expected oxidation. Formerly on loan to The Munson William Proctor Institute, Utica, New York.
Antique original beveled Barbola mirror dating to the 1920's. The mirror is unusual in that it has a spray of flowers draped over the top from left to right. There are pink roses and florals, and blue florals with greenery. There is some chipping to the paint and there are a few cracks in the gesso florals. The mirror measures 9" high and 8" across. There is some loss of silvering around the edges. It has it's own backstand. Fabulous for almost 100 years old!
