This is a magnificent second half of the 19th century Mirror made by the end of the reign of Napoleon III and inspired of the Louis Philippe era more or less fifty years earlier, consisting of an elegantly simple gilded frame, adorably accented with floral engravings and surrounding the original mirror, all highlighted by an intricately sculpted pierced carved cartouche. Note several minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1860. Dimensions 62"high/ 33"wide.
A quirky 19th. century French Mirror made from mounted pieces of tree root. The overall height is 51 ins. and the width is 32 ins.
The round bronze mirror decorated with golden filigree on the edge in scrolling shell form, inset with semi-precious gems in six-petal flowers, the reverse depicts SHOU character in the center of flowers and leaves, the handle made from crystal with some additional filigree decorations.
