An antique Chinese scholar's stand made of natural gnarled twisted hardwood roots with a transparent russet lacquer. This type of natural root furniture goes back to the 12th century aesthetic. Here is an example of the round stand produced during the Republic Period, bearing the colonial form true to the Victorian Era.

DESCRIPTION: A charming pair of French Provincial armchairs, each crafted from solid, carved cherry wood and each having rush seats with red accent stripes, early 20th C. Carved turned arms attach to an arched ladderback over the red striped seats on turned tapered legs with toupie feet, joined by stretchers. Very good condition. DIMENSIONS: 34.25” high x 21.25” wide x 20.25” deep.

English Satinwood octagonal shape small tall table with young girl portrait with floral design in Polychrome colors, 26" high, 13" wide-point to point, with shaped x-cross stretcher join into the tapered square legs, and painted floral and red ribbon on the side, stretcher and legs, entire table is constructed with satinwood. English hand painted Polychrome floral decorated on Satinwood Foot Stool, 8 1/2" high, 14" x 10 3/4" wide on top frame, with tapered Sheraton style leg with more hand painted decoration of broad leaf, and removable seat frame, lift the seat from the frame and change the fabric, the entire foot stool frame is all original. There are some wear and tear on wood.

An antique Japanese 2 section Cha Tansu (tea display chest) made of Kaki (Persimmon), Tochi (Horse Chestnut) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Upper section features sliding doors, shelves and a drawer where utensils and accessories for tea service were stored away. The glass doors and shelves were used to showcase seasonal and holiday decorations the owner wished to display.

Lovely petite hand painted curio cabinet with glass door with bronze trim and "J" shaped side glass, also with bronze mounts. It measures 54" tall x 26" wide x 15" deep. It is beautifully hand painted with a musical and flower motif.

There is marquetry every place that there is wood. The marquetry is highlighted by bronze trim all around it. It has cabriole legs, also with bronze trim. Two sliding doors with beautiful scrolling frame behind which lies a lift-off door, small drawer and a split level shelf with hand carved bamboo-like details. Three side by side drawers and 5 full width drawers below.

Antique French Art Deco pedestal desk. Made of hardwood with dramatically striated grain. The desk top has a large, white rectangular writing surface and two drawers.
