An antique Japanese drawer Nagamochi Tansu (storage trunk) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. Unusual all drawer design with shallow upper trunk. All original lacquer finish with interior paper lining. Most likely used for the storage of large vertical textile banners used for advertising or Boy's day celebrations.

Inside 2 upper doors contains five(5) original pull out Oak trays which are completely removable for moving, and top frame also removable, total three(3) sections-top frame, top section with 2 doors and bottom section with 5 drawers...

Plate in cast bronze, hot gilded with mercury, representing an antique chariot drawn by 2 horses guided by a female Greek deity. The chariot flies in the clouds and in front of the horses a child pours water from his watering can. The quality is exceptional, designs of sublime elegance, perfect casting, excellent carving and finitions a very thick mercury gilding. We see on the back of the plaque the remains of two prominent iron fixings...

DESCRIPTION: A beautiful pair of late 19th century French carved walnut armchairs, with original gros point and petit point upholstery with nail head trim, the backrests with a central scrolling cartouche framing two maidens encircled with flowers. The seats and back are upholstered in dark blue/back fabric over a turned H-shaped stretcher base with a pierced, carved front stretcher, raised on animal paw feet. Very good condition, and the perfect complement to an Old World decor...

This is one of the nicest pair of stacking bookcases that we've had, mainly because you can fit large size books in them. Each one is four stacks high, but they are much higher than the usual stackers, and the bottom two are also a lot deeper. Each of the top two sections measures 13" tall x 34" wide x 11" deep. Each of the bottom two sections measures 16" tall x 34" wide x 14" deep. The total of each bookcase is 70" tall x 34" wide. They have been refinished and are in excellent condition...

Beautiful oak S roll top desk in great original condition. Made by and signed by Moon Desk Co., Muskgon, Michigan, this lovely desk measures 51" tall x 48" wide x 33" deep. The bottom drawer on the right side pulls out and then turns to reveal deep shelves for files. The inside of the desk has compartments for letters and other items, with a place for pencils also. We've had many roll top desks, but never one just like this one. Its definitely special

From our European Collection, a very fine English oak refectory table, late 18th / early 19th century, hand-tooled from solid plank timbers and iron nails, using rustic style hand-carving for design motifs, and with crossbar support on the bottom. This piece has great natural patina to the wood that gives it wonderful character in addition to the charm of its obvious Olde Worlde masculine feel. This is a beautiful, unusual walnut and burl Gentleman's dresser made by Nelson, Matter & Company from Grand Rapids, Michigan. They were in business from 1870 to 1899. The whole piece measures 6'1" tall x 4' wide x 21" deep. The full length beveled mirror stands on the left side, and on the right is a four drawer dresser including a hidden top drawer and three other drawers. The top of the dresser is lovely marble. It has a partial tag still attached with the maker's name...
